sentence structure help?
OMG I'm really stuck on each question for my English h / WRK and I dont usually hang in English: S can someone do the q first for me, only to throw the Ball Rolling? on the structure of their sentence, things like the use of commas, colons, and all the adjectives in a paragraph to create a particular effect. here's the first: 1. We went on the ghost train, we were in the chairoplanes and went to the dancers, we went to the giant roller coaster, even – pluck up our courage! – It was the rocket launcher in reality (in italics) upside down (in italics) and, finally, heads spinning and stomachs beating, he staggered to the low wall on the seafront in one gulp of fresh air. Question: Show how the writer uses two features of the structure of sentence to emphasize the fun-fair number of children were, and how to get more of these and more audacious.
Two features You may wish to note are the semicolons, by the number of runs, and the exclamation point at the end of that sentence (a very cool effect, but underused in the U.S.) for intensity. But the effect Emphasis is also good.
