Why is the paint on my valve cover peeling?
I painted my valve cover and I remember last summer with high temperature engine enamel on it, one of the spray cans of AutoZone. came months impressive, but later began to peel and now most of snowflakes turned off. Is there a high temperature primer were used? Need more time to heal? I think i left to cure in my basement at night. and I'm not referring to the piece plastic is on top, but the valve cover real metal. I had to sand the bare metal and came up with several layers of medium weight to get a nice sheen. product was beautiful, but apparently not durable.
Did you clean the metal properly? Or oil paint will make them not stick well.
