“spider” as relates to reel mowers?
What does the term “spider” mean, as it relates to reel mowers? (e.g. ” 3 spider 4 blade, ball bearing reel”) I see usually 3, 4, or 5 spider mowers. What’s the difference?
Spider is the round metal piece between each end that keeps the blades rigid. Ball bearing bearings on the shaft between the wheels and blades make it easier for the blades to turn, thus reducing the sweat on you brow.
