I just got a girl biocube 29 what is the best way to make it a good looking reef tank?
I bought used no more bio balls? and threw in a CPR protein skimmer do not know how to use it? i also bought a power filter Odysee 250? Currently I have 30 lbs 20 lbs live rock live sand. I want to buy some corals, but do not know what is big? What should I do I have no idea!
Well, I would try to find how to use the skimmer first, to help maintain adequate water quality for corals. I have never used a CPR before, but it seems that a standard protein skimmer hang-on-back. Hold the skimmer in the tank, pump and submerged again, and plug it in. I'm not sure how the previous owner had installed fine, unless they changed the hood, or connect to a sump. It may also be necessary to open the airline to create more bubbles inside the skimmer, and set the container pick up or down (with the O-ring) to obtain the desired skimmate. Skimmate should be dark and smelly, so if it seems quite clear, it is possible that some adjustments. If the tank has cycled and is well established, then I would start with some hard corals like mushrooms and zoanthids. They come in a wide variety of colors, stay relatively small, and should do well under compact fluorescent lamps. Regards

Caring for your RV Freshwater System
Freshwater is one of those things that many people take for granted. If you are an RV owner, be sure to keep its adequate fresh water system maintained and in good working condition. Do not let a flawed system of freshwater spoil your hard-earned vacation.
Care an RV fresh water system need not be an intimidating process. In fact, it is easier than most people think. There is no guarantee that any system water is completely safe water or pure, but taking precautions can keep your RV water safer and easier to use. Thanks to Mark Polk for his contributions.
Start with a white hose, drinking is not toxic. Hoses not labeled "safe drinking" can allow lead-hazardous chemicals and other to enter the water. White hose Use non-toxic only to connect to the water source. Take along a green garden hose or black for all other flushing and filling tasks such as cleaning the holding tanks or washing the RV. While the white drinking hose not in use, roll it up and connect the two ends together. This will prevent dirt, pollution and other debris from getting into the hose. When you are ready to use it again, run a little clean water through the hose as an added precaution before connecting in the hands of the RV.
The next step is to filter the incoming water with a high quality filtration system. water filters can not completely purify water, but can help control and remove bacteria, lead and other hazardous contaminants in drinking water. Hydrolife filters have with a filter media called KDF that uses electrochemical oxidation-reduction to neutralize harmful chemicals and bacteria. The filter also uses hydrolife carbon to reduce pesticides, fungicides and other organic contaminants.
There are two basic options for filtering your RV water system. An in-line filter installed directly in the line of water to drink. The other, more preferable option to filter all the water entering the RV. In doing so, you are protecting the system water, filtering shower water to avoid skin irritation.
Perhaps the most important step is to keep your system disinfected drinking water. At an absolute minimum, the system must be disinfected every spring when you take the RV storage. Also, be sure to disinfect the fresh water system whenever odor is noticed.
To sanitize the fresh water system, begin draining the water heater. Find the water heater in the outside compartment of your RV. The stopper sewage, or petcock, is located in the lower left corner. Remove the cap and open the pressure relief valve on top of the heater water. CAUTION: NEVER drain the water heater when the water is hot or the tank is under pressure.
Locate the lowest point when drain water lines. Look carefully, because they may be hard to find. There will be one for heat and one for cold water lines. This is the lowest point water system. Open these and let the water drain out. Next, find the drain to the holding tank of fresh water and the release of all water from it. At this point, turn the water pump for a moment to force any remaining water out. Be sure to turn off the pump as soon as the water stops draining. Close all drains. Most of the water has drained from the system.
The next step in disinfecting your water system is to take a quarter cup of household bleach per fifteen gallons of water your fresh water tank has. Mix bleach with water into a gallon container and pour in the tank of fresh water. Then fill the tank of fresh water almost completely filled with water. Turn the water pump, open all hot and cold faucets in your RV, and run the water until the chlorine odor at each faucet. Close the taps. If possible, pull the trailer or RV unit to move the water around and help clean around the tank.
Once the tank has been filled with the combination of bleach with water, let stand for at least 12 hours. Drain the system again, then refill the fresh water tank with potable water. Open all faucets and flush water until no longer smell bleach. It may be necessary to repeat this process to eliminate all signs of chlorine in the water system. When the bleach smell is gone, will sure to use your water system.
Modern RVs are equipped with pumps Automatic demand pressure, fresh water storage tanks polyethylene polybutylene lines and water. These systems were designed to operate at a maximum pressure level some water, about 35 to 45 pounds per square inch. The bomb aboard has built-in pressure switch that shuts off power to the pump when the pressure has been reached. Most homes and RV parks have a water connection City to provide water. Often, the pressure on these facilities exceeds 80 pounds per square inch, and sometimes much more.
Be careful, because this high and pressure can cause leaks to develop.
For peace of mind, invest in a simple water pressure regulator to use whenever you are using a source of external water supply. This device controls the incoming water pressure to supply a continuous and regulated 45 PSI maximum. The controller is connected to the final supply hose to protect the hose and the RV, at the same time. You can buy a water pressure regulator in your local RV.
