Try Using a pencil hard to draw away Detail

Some artists have difficulty distinguishing details in the foreground of detail middle distance and distant so far.

Some of the reason for this could be that some artists are able to see more details …

* When you are long view it is likely that you can see distant objects
* When you are short of view that is less likely that you can see far into the distance

With the drawing of the landscape would think that a short-sighted artist has an advantage … Distant hidden details can be replaced by the general forms. For example, a distant mountain may be represented by a simple outline.

If you are an artist long-sighted, you could try to draw everything can be seen. This may include details about their point of view and from a distance. It is possible that you can see every hill and ravine of a distant hill, disturbed only by the snow and fog.

However, the ability to see far detail can not guarantee that you become a good landscape artist. The fact is that too much detail brings bottom detail near visual. The image is flattened, resulting in a loss in the sense of the distance.

landscape design depends on the skill of an artist to grade. In basic terms, three levels of detail is needed …

1. High levels of detail is required for the foreground
2. Reduction of detail is necessary for the middle-ground
3. little detail is required for distant details

There is no problem for an artist who can not see different characteristics distant. However, if you are able to identify the whiskers of a cat running wild on the hillside away, you will be tempted to draw what you see. Fortunately, there is a way of reducing the effects of more details.

To overcome the problem …

* Start with the bottom first. Try use a fine-tipped pencil lead hard (H or 2H is best)
* For the middle-ground use a slightly softer pencil (HB or B is good). If you prefer, you can mix this with a little hard pencil
* To draw details in the foreground, you can choose to use a wide range of soft pencils to give as little, or the highest detail required.

As design advances, the first produced background details begins to recede. The lightly drawn lines begin to be overpowered by the lines darker heavier middle distance and background lines. With a selection of different pencils gives you the ability to grade the details … with light line pesos for the distance … from light through heavy middle distance and foreground.

This will allow focus to concentrate on a chosen point of coordination. It will now be able to make your drawings look real landscapes, with details of close to standing on the bottom.

About the Author

Michael started painting seriously when he was 16 years old and still at school. At that time there were only a few artists who specialized in Steam Trains (like all boys he wanted to be a train driver). The best train painters were David Shepherd and Terence Cuneo… he wanted to paint like them. It took many years to achieve this artistic ambition. What was amazing was that there was a whole lot more to learning to paint than just steam engines. There is a whole lot of other stuff that needs to be done to make each painting interesting and lifelike. In the process of learning to paint with oils Michael realized that he had to understand landscape painting. Around the world trains cross through countryside that changes by the mile… from open fields to dark hills… from deserts to mountain ranges. The weather changes colors and texture. There are people and animals that need to be painted. There was so much more to learn… As time went by Michael discovered he could draw and paint many different subjects. It has been a great adventure that allowed him to draw with charcoal, pencil and inks. Also, there have been the thrills of painting in oils, watercolor, acrylics and pastels. Michael wants to share his painting and drawing knowledge with you and introduce you to other great artists who are enthusiastic about Art… Artists who are keen to help you become the artist you want to be.

Yesterday I accidentally stabbed myself in the finger with a pencil. Can you get tetanus from a pencil lead?

None of the pencil ‘lead’ is still in my finger, but I did get a very small “tattoo” from the puncture. I think I’ve had a tetanus shot within the last ten to eleven years, but I can’t remember. So.. can you get tetanus from a pencil lead, and should I seek any medical attention?
None of the pencil ‘lead’ is still in my finger, but I did get a very small “tattoo” from the puncture. I think I’ve had a tetanus shot within the last ten to eleven years, but I can’t remember. So.. can you get tetanus from a pencil lead, and should I seek any medical attention?

To add to this, the area around the puncture kind of hurts when pressure is applied. It’s red, but only because I’ve been messing with it; the ‘tattoo’ it left bothers me.

First of all, the pencil is likely made of graphite, not lead. Secondly, no it is unlikely unless your wound is quite deep that you will have any medical issues. Finally, you should expect to have that mark for a long time – possibly forever. It is called a “tramatic tattoo.” My son got “poked” in the cheek five years ago (he was 3) and he still has a dark mark there. I did take him to the doctor & he was not concerned, but said that it could only be removed surgically, but he would not do it until he was much older (it’s close to his eye & little boys wiggle). When he is a teenager, we’ll see if it bothers him. Keep an eye on it, put a little neosporin on it, but it shouldn’t be an issue unless it appears inflammed or infected.
