I have 5 that are 10 weeks old and 2 that are8 weeks old.I have shelties and take very good care of my dogs.They all have all their shots and are vet checked on time Q 6 mo.My friend had a pup 4 mo. oldthat got sick 1st and was taken to vet next am as soon as open and was told he had a virus that is new and caused from all rain and water standing around.He was given shot of new best antibotic for dogs,b12 and fluids under skin,sent home with albon with pepto, and reglan nausea med,put von gator aide,neutra cal, and chicken broth,took 5 days but is fine , then ouppies started getting sick and got all the same except they are getting a pen shot every other day and a b12 shot 4 times a day.We are giving boiled rice blende to mush a tiny bit of yogurt organic chick broth baby turkey and rice or chicken and noodles,and we give this in a syringe 3cc every 3 hours 1cc karo syrup 1 0r2 a day , thry drink water.Any ideas more we can do?My vet is now on vacation but have spoken to her. Help .
The yogurt is really good for them you can give them more than a tiny bit. My dog was just sick and she had more of that than anything and in 4 days was back to normal It sounds like they all have Giardia, did the vet say they had that? You seem to be doing everything right.If your vet doesn’t get back soon, maybe you should see another vet. Keep a close eye on them. Also Pedialyte works well too. I hope all works out for the best. Shelties are near and dear to my heart. I love mine to bits. Take care….
