What kind of Palm Pilot / Pocket PC should I get?
I am looking at buying a Pocket PC type device or a Palm Pilot. My needs are that it is able to access wi-fi network, and may go to a good number of web pages through it. I want to be pocket-ish in size. And it has the capacity to access Word documents and Excel documents. And it has a calendar. Price really is not much of a concern for me, I'd like something with quality. I've been looking on the Palm TX, but wanted to see what else is out there and to get opinions of others. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! I was also looking IPAQ 111, which is better?
To open Word documents and Excel very easy for me to recommend to a Pocket PC (now called Windows Mobile Professional). If you will be web browsing look for devices with "VGA" screen – you get much more detail in a small screen. Also consider installing the Opera Web Browser if it came with it. As for the marks – if you do not want a phone – just a computer portabable – HP is a great choice .. The iPAQ 111 and 211 are good devices. If you want a phone and I recommend looking for a HTC device. They are one of the largest manufacturers and have been quite consistent in quality. Palm is losing market share Unfortnately market and as a result – there are fewer companies making software for Palm devices. Also – the Microsoft Windows Mobile has more features out of the box and Palm I think it is easier to use. Avoid iMate Pocket PC and Toshiba – both have had quality problems.
