Breaking open a safe with force?

I bought a cheap padlock w / key fireproof safe not long ago (it was around $ 20) and was testing, releasing and closing several times because I'm paranoid, there are important documents. Then I tried one more thing: trying hard to break see if someone can actually get it that way without the key. I opened it with reasonable effort. Now I know that my documents will not be safe, please recommend some good safe, strong, which is less than $ 80 and can be purchased in stores, not online or eBay. Please also share some safety tips locks / safes. How I can prevent someone from opening a safe with the force? And I bought was safe MMF Industries Security Box Test fire. I live in Canada.

This type of insurance that works well, just attach firmly on the floor or wall in the back of a closet or somewhere where you can not get enough leverage to force open. But it sounds like is just to stop what you put into it to be burned in a fire, get a sturdy safe and it is unlikely that someone would be able to open it with your own hands.
