Manga Supplies Suggestions?
I am beginning my journey as a Doujinshi artist and am speculating things to buy and thought I might ask for some guidance.
So far I have written down:
Pencils: Probably a mechanical, and a B2 and H2 etc.
Manga Paper (I have one in my head already but recommendations would be nice).
Faber Castell Manga Set (Pens)
Kneaded Eraser
Non-Photo Blue Pencil
A Prismacolor Pencil Set of 24
And a Letraset Manga Pack
Any other supply suggestions are greatly needed.
I have seen many an artists using a mechanical pencil, usually a .5mm, although I never ask what leads they use. But some have openly said B2 leads.
Although I find I’m preferring plain B leads myself
The manga paper probably isn’t any different from bristol board paper. Which all that really means is it’s a heavy weight paper grade, around 110 lbs,
Faber Castell’s are nice pens, but seeing as most manga and even doujinshi’s are black and white the color manga pens set doesn’t make much sense to me. You can’t easily get replacement colors when they run dry. If you want colors, your better off getting a set of either Copic color markers or some from Chartpak or Prismacolors. You can buy those individually as needed.
A Kneaded eraser is nice but get a white vinyl eraser as well.
You might want an eraser shield
