How to make Wolverine claws?

So I’ve got the basics from this site. Three claws on a sliding track. Sounds pretty easy. The only problem is that the track relies on gravity to move, so when your arm is up, the claws slide back down on the track.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can lock the mechanism in place once the claws are extended and retracted that can be released easily? Keeping in mind the mechanism will be hidden under a jacket, so the lock needs to be easily worked through a jacket.
RE: Purpose, its for a costume. I’m just into getting all the details right.
I think you should stick on gravity to slide it out but make adjustments so that it will lock once it is out.
Also, you should design some kind of switch that will release the lock to slide the claws back in when you put your arms up.
Maybe you can place the switch on your palm.
I’ll let your imagination helps on how to build it because I’m not an expert in this kind of things.
