Description and History of Plumas
According to statistics provided by the U.S. Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association in 2005, pens were the most popular retractable writing utensil to 26%. Standard pens moved to second with 14%. There is no doubt that the pen is an extremely important part of modern society. The pen has played an important role in the past as well, with a history dating back to the Egyptians.
Around 3000 BC, the scribes of ancient Egypt were the first to write on paper. At that time, reed brushes were used to write on papyrus scrolls. The reed pen was used for a while but slowly began to be replaced in the seventh century by the feather. This is the type of pen used to write the Dead Sea Scrolls. It was introduced to Europe in the 700 AD, and remained in use for a long time. The United States Constitution was signed with a quill pen in 1787.
In the 19th century, the quill pen was replaced by the metal dip pen, containing a steel nib to hold ink. He began to be mass produced in 1822 and a period of 30 years, which came in widespread use. The dip pen had to be always dipped in ink, however, people consider it very inconvenient. They wanted a pen with an ink reservoir, which caused the pen. Widespread use of the pen did not occur until the 1870s.
Continuous improvements to be made to the pen over the years, the addition of better ways to manage the flow of ink and media faster and cleaner to fill. Once the pen was reliable, fashion took over and the new designs began to be made well.
More feathers have now created a few years after this. In 1943, the pen went into commercial production, followed by the pen in the 1960s. The Rollerball Pen was introduced in the 1980s and one of the softest feathers available.
It is clear that feathers have been important tools for writing history. Constantly revised and reinvented, the pen has come a long way from being made of reeds and feathers. Feathers have offered a more permanent method of preservation of records for thousands of years, and will so in the coming years.
A brief description of the types of feathers discussed is given below:
– Pen – This type Ink Pen oil-based waiver by rolling a small ball into a wall outlet. The ball takes ink that does not stop and then distributed on paper. It is very reliable, and has become one of the most popular tools for creation.
– Rollerball Pen – A rollerball pen uses water-based ink liquid or gel in a similar way to the ball. The ink used for a roller is more readily absorbed by the paper, however, so the pen moves more easily through of the writing surface. This gives the pen very smooth movement and unmatched ease of writing.
– Fountain Pen – a fountain pen-based ink offers water through a tip, usually of metal. The ink flows from a reservoir through a channel to the tip. Capillary action and gravity do the work in this process. The deposit may be rechargeable or disposable. refillable reservoirs may require the use of a dropper or a kind of piston.
– Marker – A felt-tip pen, commonly called a tracer, has a Porous Tip of a fibrous material. There are different types of felt tip, depending on the writing surface is used. markers are paper thin tip, tip markers are often used medium for children, and larger using whiteboard markers or cardboard. The markers can come in permanent or non-Permanent Ink, so.
– Dip Pen – A dip pen uses a metal tip attached to a handle or holder. It is a function similar to a pen, but has an ink reservoir, so it must be recharged several times with the ink.
– Boom Boom – The boom of a large bird, often a goose, is the basis of a feather. It is used before most other types of feathers, the axis of the pen acts as the ink reservoir. Were used in the Middle Media and were the replacement of the cane.
– Reed Pen – One of the implements of writing in the first place a reed pen cut cane or bamboo, sliding with a narrow tip. It works similar to a quill pen, but is made with different materials.
