Advantages Of Fountain Pens
Writing is a form of expressing one’s ideas, thoughts, and opinions. Many people express better in writing, than in speaking. While others prefer to hear a person’s voice in communicating with another person, some prefer the written form better because they can always go back to it any time they want to.
According to graphologists, a person’s personality and traits can be revealed through his handwriting. Certain characteristics and personality traits are traced to be represented by particular handwriting strokes and patterns. As such, the study of handwriting has become useful in a lot of areas including crime investigations.
There are many factors that affect the handwriting of a person. While it is true that specific moods and feelings would influence the stroke patterns, the type of pens used in writing also affects the handwriting of a person.
A variety of pens have been manufactured for various applications. These pens include the Fountain Pen, ballpoint pen, fiber Tip Pen roller Ball Pen, and Gel Ink. The most common type of pen that is used in almost any application is the Roller Ball Pen. This is probably due to the facts that this pen is one of the most recently introduced pens in the market, and it is cheaper.
However, for more formal applications such as signing of documents, the fountain pen is more advisable to use. The fountain pen was introduced in the 19th century, although the earliest appearance of reservoir pens was in the 10th century. The fountain pen is a product of the development of a pen which will have its ink contained inside without having to make use of an ink holder. Moreover, this pen should be something that can be refilled by a person by which that person can write whatever he desires.
The first inventor who acted on this challenge was Daniel Schwenter who made use of two quills in making the pen. Developments by other inventors soon followed and finally in the 1850′s the first fountain pens were introduced in the market commercially. These fountain pens were designed to write smoothly, without dripping. Since then, various producers manufactured different designs of fountain pens integrating their own innovations and modifications.
Although fountain pens are quite expensive compared to the other pen types, many still prefer using these pens because of the unique advantages that these pens offer. Unlike other pens, fountain pens do not wear out, but actually gets better with use. The more often the fountain pens are used, the better these become. Strokes become easier and smoother over time. Moreover, fountain pens make writing stylish and thus make the writers stylish also. Since these pens come in various styles and make, one can easily choose the style which fits him. Most of all, fountain pens reduce the tendency of writer’s cramps since the ink easily flows out into the paper enabling endless writings to be done with convenience.
