Blue Barrel
Is it safe to grow fish of gold in a plastic 55-gallon barrel of water blue?
will need to be taxed at the bottom. and gravel filter low. i was going to use a 350 magnum cartridge filter.
You do not really need any container of gravel in the fish. It's just an aesthetic thing people began to do to make an aquarium look realistic. A 350 magnum cartridge would be great. Goldfish are dirtier than most other fish so the bare bottom aid in the cleaning of the filters to waste. Do not forget they will need water changes weekly. About 30-40% of their water should be removed and replaced with fresh. This prevents ammonia, nitrites and nitrates in healthy levels. Some debris accumulate on the bottom, to deflect out, you will have to raise the barrel up from the ground floor a few inches so the siphoning work. The end of the hose where it exits the water should be "inferior" to that is in the barrel and tank. Just make sure that nothing toxic was stored in the barrel before using it for fish. 8
